The Latest Word

"The new script for the studio is being reworked and expect all those rumors about the film's story to be thrown out the window because the new script treatment will be drastically different. So, what's the new title? X-Men: Origins. This new title is rumored to be staying as is all the way to the film's release. The title alone points to a different story concept then previously rumored." - Mania Movies, 9/11/07 [link] new

"We’re scouting and budgeting now. It’s the origins of the X-Men with Magneto and Charles Xavier. We’ve done some scouts and it mostly takes place in Europe and Argentina. We’re doing budgets and we’re sort of halfway crewed up, and so that’ll be the big question: whether we can bring it in for a price. But that’s all I can say.” - David Goyer, Wizard Universe, 8/29/07 [link] New

"If anyone knows Magneto's history or remembers the first scene in X-Men, it's not the lightest story, so Magneto certainly will have elements that are well-suited for [David] Goyer's take." - Kevin Feige, Marvel Studio, IGN.com, 6/14/07 [link]

Sir Ian McKellen on the film in 2006: "Well, I'm not surprised [by the prequel]. Of course, that's what the comics have been doing for years," McKellen explained. "They've been having prequels and sequels and changing the plot. Going back to the past would be an obvious thing to do. To have a young Magneto story." IGN.com, 5/2/06 [Link]
