BLACKLINE COMICS MARCHES ONWARD WITH MORE OF 'BLACK SALT' AND OTHER UPCOMING DIGITAL COMICS
Blackline grows its stable of online titles with ENGINE, the announcement of two new series, a new feature on the website and the continuation of BLACK SALT: THE LAST HEROES LEFT.
In late September, Blackline Comics debuted its flagship digital comic book title, BLACK SALT: THE LAST HEROES LEFT, which has become a runaway hit on the digital comics website Comics XP (
www.comicsxp.com). Now, BLACK SALT returns for a follow-up issue overflowing with martial arts intrigue just in time for Christmas. The momentum begun in BLACK SALT #1 continues in BLACK SALT: THE LAST HEROES LEFT #2, providing back story that provides more questions for each answer it reveals, and scenarios in which subterfuge is at every turn, and no one can be trusted. Based on the motion picture screenplay by Owen Ratliff, BLACK SALT #2 is written by Chad Boudreau, with art by J.C. Grande and colors by Santosh Kumar Rath. Look for issue #2 to be released on the ComicsXP website during Christmas week, available for download for only 99 cents. And just in case you haven't read issue #1 yet, it too is available for only 99 cents as a download on ComicsXP.
In other noteworthy news, creator Tim Tyler's sword-and-space opera ENGINE is building a loyal and rapidly-growing fan base on the Blackline Comics website. To push the series forward into a wider audience, ENGINE will soon also become digital download-ready on the ComicsXP website by late December, while continuing in its serialized format on the Blackline website with new installments every Sunday and Wednesday. Keep a sharp eye out for it!
Blackline is also proud to announce two new additions to the family: first, get ready for MANHUNT, a crime series that promises to deliver danger and bloody action at every turn, as the comic focuses on a small team of federal agents on the trail of an elusive assassin. MANHUNT is a deadly chess game filled with political intrigue, guile and deceit, and it's brought to you by writer Jeremy Scully with art by Ryan Paule, and of course, distributed by Blackline Comics. Look for it in early January.
And, we have a science fiction series presented by Brazilian writer Osmarco Valladao and artist Manoel Magalhaes entitled COLONEL, about a galactic soldier on a perilous assignment and following orders from his merciless superior officer - his rifle! Blackline is excited to have this new series as part of the stable! Look for its debut in early 2010!
Finally, we've added a brand new feature to the Blackline Comics website: we now have an online forum we call the Blackboard. On it visitors can sign in and discuss their favorite Blackline Comics featured series, submit art, talk with other members about the creative process and their favorite artists, and anything else that strikes their fancy!
