Initially launched in February 2009, the efforts of Singapore writers, pencilers, inkers and colourists/tonists have finally come to fruition!
Part of the First Time Writers and Illustrators Publishing Initiative (Graphic Novels Category), IGNITE! - short for the sub-branding, 'Inaugural Graphic Novel IniTiativE' - is now presenting to the world its two very first graphic novel anthologies, aptly titled ARENA.
With focus on two immensely popular genres - Fantasy and Science Fiction - ARENA features stories created entirely by the collaborative efforts of novice artists and writers whom, without IGNITE!, may not have had the opportunity to come together and showcase their undeniable skills and talents.
ARENA truly stands out as a success story in the effort to bring together comic creators from different walks of life, and with varying sets of skills, into producing a body of work that has incredible potential to launch new Singapore based comic writers and artists into the international spotlight.
IGNITE! is organised and managed by the Association of Comic Artists (Singapore) (ACAS), supported by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and published by Nice One Entertainment (NOE).
