Creepy is back with all-new reasons to be afraid in the dark…
The new Creepy comics series follows the fetid footsteps of the long-anticipated release of Dark Horse’s Creepy archives series, which is collecting the entire run of original material from Creepy magazine’s long publication history. Creepy Archives Volume 1 will be released on August 27.
In addition to the new Creepy comics series and the library of hardcover archives, fright fans are looking forward to the first new Creepy comics story to be published in more than twenty years. This two-page story, which introduces the long-missing members of Uncle Creepy’s frightening family, will appear on MySpace Dark Horse Presents in October. The story, “Meet the Creepys,” is written by Dan Braun, with art by the award-winning painter and illustrator Jeff Preston.
“I am one of many thousands of fans who adored Creepy magazine during its original run and waited years and years to see it collected in a format that was worthy of its grandeur,” said Creepy editor Shawna Gore. “Once we cracked the work on the archive collections of the original material, we were eager to get started on a new anthology series of modern Creepy stories. The new material will retain the original magazine’s penchant for twisted tales of the supernatural, suspense, and bizarre sci-fi, but with a sharp focus on modern fears and phobias. It’s not going to be your father’s Creepy magazine, but it’ll be every bit as good and gruesome.”
Look for a final release date on the new Creepy comics quarterly in future announcements from Dark Horse Comics. |
