Wham Bang Comics' Ben Tinsley on Jason Dube working with his company
I was looking for an artist to draw just one of Jake's stories when I ran across Jason online. We hit it off right away and he really had the vision I was looking for -- someone who could take my son's ideas and flesh them out to the next level.
Jason and I got along so well and I found out he knew so many people in the industry. I came to the conclusion that it would be a crime not to take what we had all the way with our own comic book company. Jason was a great manager of artists and that was something we really needed as I was knowledgable only from the writers standpoint. Plus, he is an industry regular whereas despite my nearly 20 years of journalism experience and lifetime of comic book love I am a newcomer to the business side of the industry.
With Jason on board, we got a flurry of other great creators who wanted to work with him.
While my son Jake is the muse that keeps the dream of Wham Bang Comics alive, Jason is the wizard who keeps it magically afloat on a creative level. I really can't think of anyone else I would want to do this comic thing with than these two.
